Mathias Reimer is a licensed lawyer since 1990 and Munich based. From 1987 until 1988 he was working for the German subsidiary of a California-based software company as a counselor and took over in 1989 as the Chief Legal Officer of Oracle Deutschland GmbH.
From 1998 until 2013 he acted as Associate General Counsel and Chief Legal Officer for Oracle Germany. He also was responsible for the security of business secrets and prevention of industrial espionage. He was working as a freelance lawyer as well during this time.
In 2013 Mathias Reimer joined KOMNING law firm and founded the subsidiary in Munich.
Mathias Reimer studied at the Ruprechts-Karls-Universität in Heidelberg from 1975 until 1978 and then changed to the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität in Freiburg until 1981. He took his bar exam in 1985 in Stuttgart. During this time he also worked for a law firm in San Diego (California) in business law and law of personal rights and data security.
After his bar exam he took courses in Software-Management and data security in Freiburg and in information technology in Munich. He is a regular participant of the IT-Rechtstag (conference on IT law) in Munich.
Memberships / Honorary Appointments
Mathias Reimer is a member of DGRI e.V., the German society for law and IT, and of the working group on IT law of the Deutscher Anwaltsverein (German lawyers’ association). He is also a member of the American-German Business Club, Chapter Munich.
From 1998 until 2007 Mathias Reimer was a constant co-author on “Rechtssichere Musterverträge für IT-Experten auf CD-ROM“ (IT contracts on CD-Rom); published by the Forum Verlag.
